Do I seriously have to make a website? For Ciderhouse? Now?
After 15 years without one, here it is—the website I never needed, but figured I should finally make. I’m not here to chase followers or dazzle you with tech lingo. I’m here to make tech work for you, simply and effectively, with zero corporate fuss.
If you’re here, you’re probably wondering what a guy like me is doing with a website.
Truth is, I’ve been in business for fifteen years without one. I’ve never advertised. I've still got about 950 of the 1,000 business cards I ordered in 2012. I've never had a social media presence because I've never had to: my business grew through word of mouth, referrals, and doing work that clients trusted.
Back when I started Ciderhouse my focus was all about putting some spice into the Apple ecosystem — adding that extra something to iPads, Macs, and Apple TVs to solve problems big companies weren’t even looking at. I built iPad home automation systems before HomeKit was a thing. I created a $5,000 medical office intercom system that solved a problem no one thought could be solved for under $50,000. I velcroed Apple TVs to six-figure home cinema projectors and just... made it work. If you can think of a strange, creative problem, I’ve probably solved it.
These days, my work has evolved. My focus has shifted from clever hardware solutions to herding clouds: building secure, private, cloud-based infrastructures for small businesses. I run the whole show myself, and that’s intentional. My clients don’t need a corporate tech team — they need someone they can trust, someone who knows their setup, who answers the phone, who delivers quality without the noise.
I could be working at a big company and making a lot more money. But I’m not interested in doing work I don’t believe in, and I’m not interested in losing time with my family. I’m not just an IT consultant — I’m the guy who makes tech approachable. The guy who believes a small business should feel empowered, not overwhelmed by their technology.
So, consider this my online business card. I don’t post work on social media, and I’m not here to chase likes or followers. I’m here to bridge the gap between you and the world of IT, to make tech work for you without the corporate baggage or the jargon.
If you’re interested in hearing more about what I do or want to chat about your business needs, reach out. Otherwise, I’ll be here, doing work I believe in — and making sure it counts.
